Finding Me

Sometimes, life takes a longer time to provide concrete tangible answers, but the concepts and rumination begin many years before the advent. This song was composed and recorded in 2000. Lucy entered my life in 2012. I waited 12 years for my Canine Angel to help me see Me.

Thank you, Lucy Like-a-Charm. My cosmic gift of clemency.

Lyrics:

I thought that you were watching me to see if I would measure up, and be what you expected of me.I thought that you were looking out to see if I could be
All the wonderful, brave and strong, kind and meek things I could be.
I fought with my darkness, afraid that I would sin, too scared to admit that I knew I’d never win.
And yes I know that trials come to make me strong,
That every step I grow the road is not so long.
But I know now, these trials help me see what you have always known, what you have meant to be.
Yes I know now, that you have always known just what my heart could give, and how my love will grow.
Each moment that I live, you’ve always known what you know.
With each trial comes your victory – and I know now, all that you have known about me, you want me to see!

I used to struggle with my failures, afraid of disappointing you,
And trials were just questions to some awful mysteries!
I thought that you were watching me and hoping I’ll do fine,
And Oh, it mattered that somehow the prize would then be mine.
I wanted to win your heart and see your nod of approval, with some great achievement, surprise you with my efforts.
And though I knew that trials come to make me strong, and every step I grow the road is not so long.
But I know now, these trials help me see what you have always known, what you have meant to be.
Beyond my pain, these wings you’ve given me to ride upon your breath, that yes, Lord, I can see.
All you’ve placed in me, you’ve always known what you know.
That in you, my love is strong, in you, I measured all along:
All the wonderful things you have always known about me, Lord, I know you want me now to see!
You have always known about me, Lord, I know you want me now to see.
